The official dMAT practice materials — sat the way the exam is timed.
The materials below are published by g.a.s.t., the body that runs the dMAT, and they define the exam: use them before anything else, including us. We link to them at the source rather than copying them — they are g.a.s.t.'s work, and the versions on the official dMAT preparation page are always the current ones. What we add is the one thing a PDF cannot: the clock. Open a resource, start the matching timer, and sit it under real conditions.
Exam-length timers
Pick the timer that matches what you are sitting. It runs only on this page — nothing is recorded.
One Core section — figure sequences, mathematical equations or Latin squares — 20 items.
The GAM booklet's sample tasks, at the module's pace.
Three Core blocks plus the GAM, back to back, as on the day.
The official resources
Preparation — General Academic Module (g.a.s.t., September 2026)
The official preparatory booklet for the GAM: sample source texts with their linked questions, solutions, and g.a.s.t.'s own notes on how the tasks are meant to be solved. This is the single most important free document for the India route — read it once untimed, then sit the sample tasks against the 90-minute timer above.
Open the official GAM booklet ↗The official walkthrough videos
Five short recordings from g.a.s.t. showing the real digital interface for each part of the test. Watch them once before your first timed sitting — knowing where the buttons are is worth minutes on the day.

Preparatory materials — M.Sc. Data Science (July 2026) and M.Sc. Battery Science (February 2025)
g.a.s.t. also publishes sample tasks with solutions for the subject-specific dMAT variants some German universities require for particular master's programmes. The Core Module mechanics are the same, so these are useful extra practice for every candidate; the subject sections apply only if your programme asks for that variant. Sit a Core section from either against the 25-minute timer.
How to use these well
- Watch the five videos first — twenty minutes, once.
- Read the GAM booklet untimed and study g.a.s.t.'s solution notes; they show the intended reasoning.
- Come back, start the 90-minute timer, and sit the booklet's sample tasks properly: no notes, no calculator, answer everything (guessing is not penalised).
- Then learn the fast approach for each mechanism in Learn the game, and put in the volume with timed practice — the official samples are few by design; they show you the exam, they cannot build your speed.
After the official samples
Fifteen full-length timed papers and 2,858 original questions built on the same mechanisms, with the reasoning drawn on every one.
